Funakoshi Karate

The Gordon's Bay dojo was the starting point of bringing back the teachings of Dai Hanshi Edwin Ward to South Africa, after affiliating itself with the Funakoshi Karate International family in 2009. The dojo currently operates out of the Smit family residence, and welcomes a wide range of Gordon's Bay locals as part of its karateka family. This is indeed the South African home of Funakoshi Karate International in South Africa!
