Impact melamine and thermo-foil wrap doors and panels
To clean, use only a mild soapy solution. Wipe down with a damp cloth and dry with a soft cloth. Dust with a soft cloth only. Don’t use wax-furniture polish or any cleaning products that contain alcohol or solvents. Don’t use abrasive cleaners, acetone, petrol or glass cleaners as this will damage the surface of the doors. Cooking splashes should be wiped up immediately using a damp cloth. Use a micro fibre anti-scratch cloth.
Hi-gloss doors and panels
Clean with a damp, soft cloth such as a micro-fibre anti-scratch cloth. Wipe dry after cleaning. Don’t use any cleaning products containing alcohol or solvents. Don’t use abrasive cleaners, acetone, petrol or glass cleaners as this will damage the surface of the doors.
Solid wood, veneers and Painted doors and panels
Use a micro fibre anti-scratch cloth when cleaning and use a very mild soapy solution. Wipe down with a damp cloth and dry with a soft clean cloth. Dust with a soft cloth only, following the grain pattern of the wood. Don’t use cleaning products that contain alcohol or solvents. Don’t use abrasive cleaners, acetone, petrol or glass cleaners as this will damage the surface of the doors. It’s best to use a damp cloth to remove fingerprints and marks, followed by drying with a soft cloth. Cooking splashes should be wiped up immediately using a damp cloth. You may be aware that wood changes colour when exposed to light; the rate of change being dependent on the species and intensity of exposure. Please be aware that if additional doors are required in the future, a variation in colour is highly probable.
Work surfaces
Your work surfaces can become damaged if mistreated. We would recommend that you:
Always use a chopping board.
Place hot pans or casserole dishes on protective mats or trivets.
Mop up spills immediately, particularly on joins and around sink and hob cut-out areas.
Laminated work surfaces
Wipe clean with a moist cloth and mild detergent. For more stubborn marks, leave the detergent to soak for a short while before rinsing thoroughly.
Solid Wood
Always mop up spills straight away and don’t leave wet crockery to stand for any length of time on solid wood surfaces. Attention should be paid to the sink area where water gathers. Wipe water up to avoid damage. Make sure the surfaces don’t have prolonged contact with metals, such as iron and steel, as these can cause black staining of the timber. Wipe clean using a well wrung out cloth dipped in warm soapy water. Solid wood work surfaces require slightly more maintenance than other tops as they need to be oiled regularly. We recommend using Danish oil to keep the wood supple and prevent cracking. Always follow the grain when applying oil and use a soft dry cloth.
Granite and composite surfaces
Stone work surfaces are pre-treated with a liquid silicone sealer which reduces their natural porosity and provides a protective coating. Clean with water containing soap or a mild or neutral detergent using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse off with clean water.
Polish dry with a soft cloth or a micro-fibre surface cloth. Avoid use of abrasive cleaning materials including scouring powders, steel wool or metal brushes.
Never use bleach and other chlorine-based cleaners, acids, photographic development liquid, alkalis (caustic soda) and concentrated disinfectants on stone surfaces.
Solid Surfaces
Use soapy water, ammonia-based cleaners (not window cleaners as they can leave a waxy build up that may dull the surface) or commercially available solid surface cleaners. These will remove most dirt and residue from all types of finishes although stubborn residue will require a little stronger cleaner.
To avoid water marks, clean up spills before they dry.
To disinfect, wipe surfaces with very diluted household bleach.
If any handles or knobs are loose they should be tightened with a screwdriver. If any are broken they should be replaced since they can not only be unsightly but hazardous as well.
Cabinet door hinges should be checked regularly for signs of wear, especially if the door is not closing properly. The hinges may be tightened with a screwdriver and may be replaced if they are excessively worn.
These small steps can allow your kitchen cabinet doors to maintain their functionality and appearance over many years.
Stainless Steel
For general cleaning, only use a 5% liquid soap and 95% water solution. Wipe down with a damp cloth (not wet) and dry with a soft clean cloth, or alternatively use a stainless steel cleaner such as ‘Inox crème’. Dust with a soft clean cloth only. Don’t use cleaning products that contain alcohol or solvents. Don’t use abrasive cleaners, acetone, petrol or glass cleaners as this will damage the surface. Use a micro fibre anti-scratch cloth when cleaning. A light coat of baby oil can be used to enhance the appearance if required. It makes it look, and stay, looking fantastic. There are various aerosol stainless steel cleaners on the market that can be used.
Evolution, which was developed by Easylife Kitchens over the past two years, introduces stylish, state-of-the-art new kitchen designs based on European trends and the latest in kitchen design technology. The new designs are being manufactured at Easylife Kitchens’ manufacturing plants in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
Easylife Kitchens Managing Director, Philip Kirby, says the introduction of Evolution is the biggest change to the company’s product offering in 10 years, and required significant changes to its production processes.
“We are delighted to bring this new product to market. We are the first local manufacturer to produce these kitchens in high volume and are confident our customers will love the new design and additional space created. And at the same time as introducing Evolution, we’ve introduced a national pricing model ensuring that no-matter where our customers buy our products, they pay the same price.”
Evolution covers every aspect of the modern kitchen, providing the perfect combination of space and technology to maximise efficient workflow. In creating Evolution, the company has moved away from what has historically been the standard industry carcass sizes for kitchens in South Africa, instead creating a product that better meets its customer’s needs.
Philip adds that Easylife Kitchens’ Design Consultants have all been trained on Evolution, giving them an opportunity to follow European design trends and create designs that compete with the best of Europe’s kitchen designers.
Our professionally trained Design Consultants will prepare the design & quotation to your requirements using the most up to date design technology currently available.

QUALITY ADVANTAGE
At Easylife Kitchens we are proud of our seal of quality which carries a two-year product and workmanship guarantee. Our customers are assured of total peace of mind, secure in the knowledge that they are investing in a kitchen which has been designed in accordance with the latest computer-aided technology and manufactured to the highest quality standards, using only first-grade materials and components.
Legs
We use imported virgin plastic adjustable carcass legs to ensure that the kitchen is protected from any possible flood damage.
Sink bases
Imported aluminium trays are used to protect the kitchen cupboard under the sink from plumbing leaks.
Aluminium worktop support brace for sink
Imported aluminium sink support braces are used to strengthen the worktop when a cut-out is made for a sink, which is usually positioned close to the edge of the worktop.
Pre-drilling of holes on CNC
Specialised machines are used for pre-drilling holes to ensure accuracy, as well as minimising the handling of each component and for greater ease of assembly.
Hinges with a lifetime guarantee
We use only Blum hinges, renowned for their high technology, outstanding quality and durability, with the additional option of selfor soft-closing cabinet doors.
Drawers with a lifetime guarantee
Only Blum drawer systems are used, because of their unsurpassed, silent runners and effortless closing properties.
Metal-sided drawers
Only Blum single drawer side systems are used, known for their high side stability and low sag values, instead of the wooden box option generally available on the market.
16mm drawer bases
These bases ensure strong, sturdy drawers that will withstand warping. In addition, as there is no grooving on the base, the carrying capacity of the drawers is increased.
Soft-closing and handle-less option
As an alternative to normal drawer systems, we can upgrade your kitchen design to an integrated Blumotion soft-closing solution or even the further option of a handle-less kitchen.
Adjustable shelves with pre-drilled holes
This manufacturing system allows our customers to choose their preferred location of shelves, together with the option of adding extra shelves.
Pre-assemble each cupboard
In this way we ensure that the quality of each cupboard carcass is to standard, that all components required are in the flat pack (including
hardware for assembly), and that everything is in place for final assembly on site.
A-grade board
Only A-grade board is used in manufacture, which ensures that there are no colour variances in the Melamine, and that the quality of the board meets all industry standards regarding density of substrate and glue content.
Hot-melt glue and state-of-the-art edge banding technology
This methodology provides for minimal visibility of the glue line and ensures long-lasting, smooth edging on all components
