Centuries ago, a dynamic bodywork therapy based on Yoga and Ayurveda was born in the temples of Thailand. In this unique healing system of Thai Yoga bodywork – also called Nuad Boran – and widely known as Traditional Thai Massage, (Nuad Phaen Boran) – the practitioner guides the recipient through a series of passive Yoga postures while palming and thumbing along the ”Sen Lines”, the body’s energy lines and pressure points. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
The therapeutic basis of Thai Yoga Massage is rooted in the Indian healing tradition of Ayurveda; the word Ayurveda derives from two Sanskrit words: Ayur, meaning “life” and Veda, meaning “knowledge” thus, this science of living functions as a guide to the proper maintenance of life.
The traditional Thai style of massage is a treatment which is famous for its healing properties and health benefits. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor. The client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement.
The session is done by utilising hands, feet, elbows and knees to stimulate the pressure points of the body. It is appropriate for all ages and levels of flexibility.
The non-invasive techniques used in this massage encourage almost immediate comfort and relief. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed and invigorated.
