Klawervlei translates to Clover Plain. This historic farm is situated
at the northern part of the famous Stellenbosch Wine Route and in one of the oldest wine growing areas of South Africa.
The farm is centrally located to a number of existing old and new golf courses, it is only minutes away from Cape Town and Paarl and has easy access to the Cape Town International Airport. Klawervlei has beautiful views of Table Mountain and the sunsets are breathtakingly spectacular. Two small lakes on the farm attract a variety of wildlife to the farm and create a paradise for nature lovers and birdwatchers.
The new owners Chris de Jager, Werner Luig and Christoph Hammel are ready to develop all 115 hectares into a Wine Estate of note. By planting the latest clones and select cultivars, modernising the existing cellar, introducing a first class guesthouse and attractive food venue to the farm, Klawervlei will soon be one of the renowned meeting places in the Cape of Good Hope. The new buildings which are planned will combine classical elegance and an interpretation of the well established Cape architecture. Generous pastures and paddocks offer a variety of possibilities to the Equestrian fraternity. The horse trails, out rides and arenas will satisfy any caring horse lover.
