Massage Therapy is the manipulation of muscle and tendons to ease tension and pain. It is recorded as being one of the oldest forms of physical therapy and has become increasingly in demand as an essential part of stress management or sports maintenance and recovery.
The constant build up of muscle tension caused either by inactivity or over training leads to increased tension on joints, ligaments and the muscles themselves.
Conditions I treat range from stress related muscle pain, postural pain or over used and fatigued muscle from any sport or activity. Ultimately, we need to address the cause of the pain and sometimes this is just a build up of untreated tension that can be released in one session. If the pain is the result of a dysfunction within the mechanics of the body, then this will need to be addressed first.
