Get up close and personal to the Plett’s colony of Brown Fur Seals in their natural environment. The seals are inquisitive and gentle natured and our seal swim adventure is bound to be one of your most exciting experiences ever!

The Seal Colony is situated on the Robberg Nature Reserve, which is a 10-minute boat ride from Plett’s main beach. When you arrive at the seal colony they will welcome you by bounding toward the boat with their unmistakable glee, showing off their acrobatic skills. They are inviting you to join in!

The Brown Fur Seals are some of the gentlest of underwater mammals, and love to play. They are friendly and you will notice the pure joy they get out of your attention. They may even tug at your equipment and we suggest that you don’t tug back as it might frighten them.

The seal swimming adventure is very safe and the whole family can enjoy the experience. Children younger than 6 years old are able to view the seals from the boat while children older than 6 years old must be able to float.

DIVE PLETT

A photographers’ paradise, dive a variety of shallow house reefs teeming with marine life and our shallow seal snorkel or dive – a once in a lifetime diving encounter.

There are a variety of shallow house reefs which are only a short swim from the shore directly in front of the dive centre. Alive with marine life this is a photographer’s paradise.

Plett is also home to a large Cape Fur Seal colony and is one of the few places in the world where you can enjoy the unique experience of diving with these inquisitive creatures. Dolphins and Whales frequent the Bay throughout the year and are often interrupt the boat trips on route to the various dive sites.

Pro Dive is proud to own their own boat that they charter daily for diving in the area. Experience some of the most spectacular dives with impressive pinnacles and walls attracting game fish and marine life.

There are a variety of shallow house reefs which are only a short swim from the directly in front of the dive centre. Alive with marine life this is a photographer’s paradise!

PORT ST JOHNS - THE ULTIMATE SOUTH AFRICAN SARDINE RUN EXPERIENCE

A typical sardine bait ball in crystal clear conditions where dolphins, sharks, whales and sea birds are in a feeding frenzy is in fact a rare sighting. Film crews have spent weeks out at sea over the span of a couple of years in search of the perfect bait ball action to get the footage regularly seen on television.

We join the various predators as they move along the South African coastline feeding on the bate balls during the day, and spend the evenings relaxing with friends around the fire eating, drinking and talking about the day’s excitement.
