We offer three luxury en-suite B&B rooms as well as two fully equipped Self Catering suites.
Somerset West offers a lively village ambiance – away from the crowds and noisy city life! But right on our doorstep you can enjoy world famous vineyards and award winning restaurants, relaxing beaches and the natural beauty of the Western Cape, or play a round of golf on one of the many renowned golf courses in the surrounding area.
Both the B&B rooms and the Self Catering suites are spacious and stylishly decorated to create a relaxing ambience. The focus being on quality furnishings, comfortable beds and modern bathroom fittings. All have a private outdoor area which allows our guests to fully enjoy the wonderful weather and balmy evenings.
SomerZicht is protected from the prevailing Cape summer winds and caters for individual travellers and small groups. We endeavour to provide the best possible service at affordable rates. Our B&B rates include a hearty breakfast in the breakfast room or, weather permitting, on the patio with magnificent mountain views. Guests are welcome to use the large communal lounge which flows onto the patio or to relax around the sparkling pool.
New owners, Jörg Grotegut and Petra Halstenberg, left the cool north of Germany to settle in Somerset West, near Cape Town. Years ago we fell in love with the breathtakingly beautiful country, the friendly people and the culture. We would now like to pass this on to our guests and ensure an unforgettable stay at SomerZicht.

B&B Rooms
The luxury B&B rooms in the main house offer:
Pond room
Situated at the front of the main house next to the garden pond, it has a private entrance via a wooden deck. Choose between a King-sized bed or Twin beds. Enjoy early morning coffee whilst listening to the soothing sound of the pond-waterfall or how about a glass of famous Cape wine late afternoon on your private deck.
Tree Room
A timber deck under magnificent Kiepersol trees leads to the private entrance of the Tree Room. It offers a choice of a King-sized bed or Twin beds. Watch the squirrels cavort in the trees whilst enjoying a cup of coffee or a beer on your private deck.
Garden Room
Located at the back of the main house with a private garden terrace. Here you can enjoy magnificent sunsets whilst sipping a glass of wine. Entrance to this room is through the main house. The room is furnished with a Queen-sized bed.
Self Catering Suites
Terrace Suite
Located on the upper level with its entrance via steps from the pool area. It features a private sun terrace with table and chairs as well as a large balcony with stunning views on the mountains and the swimming pool below. The balcony is furnished with patio table and chairs and has a Weber barbeque. The suite offers a large open-plan area with bedroom and lounge, a separate kitchen and a separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Size: 45 m² + Balcony of 16 m²
Pool Suite
Near the pool on the lower level with a private entrance. It has a sunny patio area, equipped with table and chairs as well as pool loungers. The suite has an open-plan lounge and kitchen area with a separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with shower, basin and toilet. Choice of extra length King-size bed or twin beds. Guests are welcome to use the barbeque facility at the pool. Size: 38 m² + outside patio flowing onto pool area.

Breakfast in the breakfast room or on the main patio
Breakfast is included in the B&B rate (and our Self Catering guests are welcome to join at additional cost). Guests help themselves to a sumptuous breakfast buffet with a variety of cheeses, cold meats, bread and rolls, cereals, yoghurts, seasonal fruit and fruit juice, tea & coffee. Additionally, guests can order a hot English breakfast. Please advise any specific dietary requirements before arrival. Breakfast is served from 08h00 until 10h00; earlier breakfast can be arranged by prior request only.

Tourism information and recommendations – to help you experience the best that the Cape has to offer, we will share our secret destinations with you and assist with any arrangements you might need. We will also gladly make reservations for Wine tours, Day trips to Cape Town and surrounds and restaurants.
Golf service – We offer you the option of arranging your tee-off times in advance. We will do all the necessary bookings for you, based on your preferred golf courses and times.
Airport transfers – we can arrange a shuttle to collect you from the airport or drop you off. Please let us know if you require this service when making your reservation.
